switched my laptop to win7 64bit - the rest of my lan is 32bit xp. my home server is 32bit xp lan and holds all the hdds for audio/video streaming and also the drives for the backups, and the printers which are the problem.
i have done the workarounds i have seen online about a 32bit xp -> win7 64bit setup but nothing is working regardless of where i have the drivers.
i am sure somebody else has crossed this bridge before me, thus the reason i have waited so long to move over to win7 (well forced to move over by software i use) and figured this type of issue would have already been taken care of, but it is not.
i can see the printers on the win7 machine, just when i go to connect to them, i get a "no driver" message or "can't connect" message. again i have put the drivers on both sides and even tried the local port on the win7 machine - that one said the network address was incorrect.
so, how do i get the 64bit win7 to see the printers on the 32bit xp machine?
frustrated...
edit - after a few reboots on both machines...it is working, interesting...will see how long it does
