I don't know if this belongs in the 'forum issues' or not... but I have a couple of ideas for AT articles. I know AT is always cooking up something (I just wish I could see in the kitchen every now and again 😉), but the hardware reviews have been sorta 'dead' for a while. The reviews themselves are excellent, but there just isn't a whole lot of stuff with a high "cool" factor to review.
In these 'in between new stuff' periods, how about doing an article on "building a home theatre PC", or "how to set up a PC as an MP3 jukebox with remote wireless technology" (so you can use a remote anywhere in the house, and have wireless speakers set up and have your PC play MP3's etc... Or perhaps an article with some insight into "where is the graphics industry headed?", or "what's going to be the next killer technology?", or "benchmarking - where the heck is it going, and how are we going to benchmark anything when every manufacturer is 'cheating'?". Those are just some things off the top of my head, I'm sure others can throw some good suggestions in there.
It doesn't have to be anything in-depth, or a thorough 30 page researched article on using your PC as a home theatre system -- just some quick articles with tips and hints, or the experiences the AT crew have trying to set things up etc.... I think it would keep things 'fresh' and provide for some fun reading even when there's no immediate new hardware to be reviewed or examined, even for those not really interested in doing those particular things with PC's. How about an article every now and again describing some of the behind-the-scenes stuff (the irritations, the pain-in-the-butt issues, the funny stuff) that happens when the AT crew is trying to do the testing etc?
Anyway, keep up the good work on the reviews and such, I just wanted to throw out some ideas! If anyone else has some ideas for topics/reviews/articles/editorials etc, lets hear'em!
