Interesting article, I was wondering if anyone could find the sites he was obliquely referring to..

i usually use reveiws to find whats might be the best, then just look in a few forums (mostly here) and see what others say

The article implies that anandtech was paid off by intel to not include gaming benchmarks in their review of intel's upcoming dual processor.

I think the author of the article is wrong.

I don't know if he is explicitly talking about Anandtech's review, but as a guy that has worked for 3 different reviewing sites, it happens.

Hmm, if he is insinuating that Intel bought off AT, then he's pretty stupid himself. IIRC, at the end of both articles, AT says that AMD will benefit more from dual-core and all but said that AMD will still be the chip to have (which is what AT has been pretty much saying in the last several CPU reviews).

Sounds a little bit like envy. How many times do you see someone reference an Inquirer article, only to have several people say, yeah, but its an Inquirer article (meaning take it with a few packets of salt)?

Blah, if he wants to expunge about corruption, go into politics.

Sure there are some valid points, but honestly, if he's losing sleep over this, maybe he should find a different job?

The reason I doubt is because the anandtech (p)review makes clear that full gaming benchies will be included in the final review when the processor is actually released, and that if you want to know what performance will be like for games check out previous intel P4 reviews, since, because games only utilizes one cpu at present, those older reviews will provide an accurate idea of what performance will be like in games.

I have no doubt that it happens at other sites. But I feel that the Anandtech site gets enough traffic that advertisement revenue must be decent, enough not to feel the need to increase revenue through unethical means. The Anandtech site also is know for providing well balanced and objective reviews, and this impression is something I would imagine is valued in its staff, enough that they would not want to risk tarnishing this image.

Anand would never except intel's blood money. the inquirer should post it's own benches and STFU if it thinks other sites are misleading. I find the enquirer to be the least based in reality review site out there, they just look at other sites analyses and write their own opinion

From your point of view they provide objective reviews, but the fact is that we don't know the entire story.

Although I don't doubt Anandtech's intergrity like I do with other sites, I've learnt that anything is possible.
