hardware prices for this season

I see that ram prices are going up a little. Since it's going to be christmas soon, do you think the prices for hardware will go down? or up? I'm planning to buy a new motherboard, video card, and processor. The prices are alright right now, but I don't want to spend all the money now if it's going to drop later (yes i know eventually it'll drop, but i'm talking about the next month). My friend owns a company and he says that prices should be going back up at the beginning of the 2002 year, but I don't know if that's true or not. What do you guys think?
 
Prices on everything but memory seem to be going down all the time. I would definitely wait. Read more reviews of videocards and motherboards while you're waiting and deciding what to get.
