I just assembled a Athlon 4/DDR setup, and the memory scores @ 155FSB are pretty impressive. I get 872/974 in the latest version of Sandra...not too shabby. These scores are getting close to PC600 RDRAM...🙂 Now if only I could get some higher FSB's speeds stable.....
 
Just to be pedantic, hardware prefetch doesn't increase DDR bandwidth, nor does it increase SDR bandwidth, and it doesn't increase RDRAM bandwidth. All it does is, in a nut shell, trade bandwidth for the sake of lowering latencies. In this way, think of it as making use of extra bandwidth when it's available, and doing something useful with it.
 
Are you using the pc2100? Do you think the chip is holding you back or the ram? If its the cpu drop the multiplier and try to run the fsb a bit more. I have seen reports of guys running the epox boards to 180fsb. WTH kind of Ram were they using?
 
To be just as pedantic, it's only increase efficiency by utilizing what'd have been surplus/wasted/unused bandwidth. 🙂

I think the hardware prefetch makes the CPU more sensitive to FSB speeds. Even at lower multipliers, anything over 155 was not stable..even with DDR voltage maxed to 2.9v. Also, I was able to run some benches @ 165 FSB, and 170 FSB...and they were lower. I'm not sure why, but I know it was counter productive over 155 FSB on this setup.

No, this Swiftech is a major pain to take off and on, so for now I am leaving it alone. I posted some comparisons earlier between my 1.4ghz Tbird/SDRAM setup and my Athlon 4 setup, and I just got a bunch of people telling how it was useless info because the systems were so different, so I erased the post.
