Hardware monitor found error
Hello all...

I was given a PIII 550Mhz pc. The problem I having is when I boot the machine up I get the following:

Hardware Monitor found an error. Enter Power set menu for details.

When I go to the power setup menu Here is what I found:
VCORE Voltage 2.0V
+3.3V Voltage 2.0V (In red)
+5V Voltage 4.9V
+12V Voltage 12.0V
-12V Voltage -12.1V
-5V Voltage - 4.8V

The only hard ware on the machine is 1 stick of memory 128 SDRAM, ATI video card, sound card, floppy and harddrive. The power supply is an ATX 250 watt.

Can someone tell me the problem that I am experiencing here and all this means as well how can I fix the problem? Also, when I enter the power setup menu and I select the 2.0 my only option is to IDNORE the setting, can I do that?

Need more info just ask.

Thanks

If the reading is correct, it seems the Power Supply is going South...if you have a spare switch and check.

I Have changed the power supply to 350watts. And I am still getting a a voltage reading of 3.3V Voltage 2.0.

Is safe to say that it is not to much of a concern and I can ignore this? Or is there something else I should check?

I think you can ignore it - it might not be reading the right thing. My 3.3v is showing as 1.52V, which I believe is actually my AGP voltage. Check the BIOS - that should show what the voltages are, and what they actually correspond to. I don't know that the system would actually function if your 3.3v rail was actually 2.0v.
