What is the best and cheapest hardware modem right now?

I see the Elsa modem on buy.com but don't know anyone using one. It's been a while since I bought my USR ISA 56k and they seem pretty expensive now...
 
You might want to give Zoom FaxModem Model 2919 a try. These are very good hardware based 56k modems. They are linux ready as well. If you find it a Staples.com use a coupon to lower the price further. I got mine at about $50.
