Hullo Everybody,

I just wanted to post the parts of a new computer Im going to be building here very shorty. With weird compatibility issues and other unpredictable things that can happen, I just wanted to make sure that from your experience there are no issues with these products, and that all of you have had good experiences with them before I dish out the moolah.

Here are the specs:

-MSI G4Ti4400-VTD (MS-8871 8871-020) GeForce 4 Titanium 4400 -DDR/SDRAM 128MB Video-in TV-out DVI-I VGA CARD - RETAIL
-AMD ATHLON XP 1900+/266 FSB PROCESSOR CPU - RETAIL
-CRUCIAL MICRON 256MB 32x72 PC 2100 DDR RAM - OEM
-SONY 1.44MB 3.5 INCH INTERNAL FDD DRIVE - OEM
-WD WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB 7200RPM EIDE -HARD DRIVE # WD800JB - OEM, DRIVE ONLY (Has 8MB cache)
-Lite On 40X12X48 CDRW : RTL40125S-Full OEM
-LINKSYS LNE100TX ETHERFAST 10/100 LAN CARD
-Antec 400W ATX SmartPower
-Antec SX1040 Performance Series Case

BTW, I plan to dual-boot Windows XP Home and Red Hat Linux 7.2.

Again, just wondering what your experiences were with these products, and if you would recommend anything else.

Thanks in Advance ...

You shouldn't see any compatability issues... I have an MSI KT3 Ultra-ARU, and it works very nicely, btw :)

Looks fine, and I don't see what could happen.

3 sugestions but nothing very important, overall it should be all good :)

1 - ti4400 really not worth it... 4200s are cheaper and can be OCd to close to 4600 levels with stock cooling ...
2 - crucial ram is cheaper than mushkin and corsair for a reason. i don't trust them anymore. id go for Mushkin... its only a few bucks extra and you'd know where they went... its very nice ram!
3 - LiteOn is a good brand but they make some shady CDRWs... do a search for them in any harware forum and they're full of issues... TEAC has a nice 40x/12x/48x CDRW that is fast and very reliable... or go toshiba or something but i wouldnt trust liteon...

neways good luck with it!

Well, I went ahead and got a TEAC 40X12X48 CD-RW DRIVE instead of the Lite-On, MUSHKIN DDR 256MB|32X64 PC-2100 instead of the Crucial stuff, and a Chaintech Geforce4 4200 "GT21" Special Edition VIVO instead of the pricey 4400. Thanks for your input, it has helped wery much :D ...
