I am currently running an AMD 3500+ in an ASUS A8v board. I am running three HD's..a SATA raptor for my boot drive and OS and two ide data drives. I am replacing one of the data drives because it is full. I would like to add another sata drive instead of using ide again...but I had problems even getting my original one to run properly...is this just plug and play now?
Also...I have gotten AMD 4200 dual core chip which will plug into this board...I need to run new bios from ASUS but have no idea how to do this. I believe the board should run right away with no other changes since I am not replacing my OS drive. Any help would be appreciated and PLEASE in very simple layman terms...I am not well versed in procedures although I did build this machine myself.
Btw, I do backup my files on external drives and I am using this setup for photoedition
