I havn't made any upgrades to my computer, specs:

950mhz
two sticks of 128mb 133mhz sd-ram
80GB western digital HD
32mb nvidia Geforce 2 card

Ok heres the error I'm getting:

Checking Nvram....Update Failed

Auto Detecting Pri. Master IDE Hard Disk...Detected
Auto Detecting Pri. Slave...Not Detected
Auto Detecting Sec Master ATAPI CDROM...Detected

And it just freezes there 🙁 and its messed, say I turn it off and on 20 times, 1/20 times it will work and say Update Ok...how do I fix this?

ah, good old GeForce2 GTS huh? I loved that card when I had it.

Anyways,

there is a three pin jumper somewhere on you're motherboard (read manual to find out where) that is set on pins 1-2. Turn the computer off, unplug the power supply and move the jumper from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3. Do not turn on the computer. With it still off move the jumper back to pins 1-2 and restart the computer.

Simple process, takes 10 seconds.

😀 I found it, and fixed it, thanks a lot man. I jsut had to remove a lot of PSU cables to see itcuz my bro in law who built this comp did a horrible job...they covered everything. Everything works perfect now.

sure, pull out the battery after you unplug the power cord. wait a couple minutes and put the battery back in and fire her up....

Hi, With power unplugged, pull the battery and wait 1-2 hours. The capacitors in the clock/bios circuit have to discharge. A few minutes wont get it. The delay is so you don't lose it while changeing the battery. Jim
