Hi I am new here as you can see. I have one question.
I am building a pc for HD Video editing and I chose those parts:
Mobo: ASUS CROSSHAIR IV FORMULA
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
I now need an ssd and 8gb ram. I read the basic principles about ssds, and I understand the problems that they have after a certain amount of use. I need a good ssd with trim tech that is fast in all occasions and he never slow down after some time of use (I am very confused about this matter). 40 Gigs is enough for me (only win 7 Ultimate and Adobe CS5 will run there). Also I need good rams that are good with the Phenom and this motherboard (8Gb at 1333). Cost is an important factor for me. I need good performance at a good price. Any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance :)

PS Video Card, psu and case are already chosen.

If cost is an issue and you haven't ordered that motherboard yet, it's way overpriced for what you need. This mobo would save you $100, and then some because you don't need a graphics card and you won't even know the difference. (890FX chipset has no integrated video)

8GB Mushkin Silverline RAM $174

As for the SSD, an Intel X25-V G2 would work well, but if you're really concerned about long term performance you may benefit from buying a bigger SSD than you need and then formatting to a smaller size. Providing the SSD that extra unallocated space reduces the impact of the performance decrease over time, though 40GB would probably be fine as well as long as you do limit yourself to Win7 and your apps.

And I'm sure it goes without saying you're still missing a few pieces, I'm going to assume you already have them :)

What brands do you have available? I just chose Mushkin because I have a personal preference for them. Pretty much any 8GB kit from one of the big names should be fine. Corsair and GSkill are popular on these forums especially.

How about those OCZ Gold 4GB DDR3 Non ECC CL9 1333MHz I plan to get 2x4Gb pak. Is it ok? I will have any problem with compatibility?

Although OCZ is generally a decent brand, they have not had a very good run with DDR3. I would recommend you keep looking, it's not really a chance worth taking.

That will be fine. Corsair makes great RAM, they just charge you for it also :D

If there's an identical, cheaper 1333MHz kit, that would work just as well for you to save a little cash.

I agree with all of Darkwaffle's suggestions. How many Hard drives are you getting though? Are you thinking SSD with 2 large capacity? I like that kind of setup with my editing. You can also do SSD with three high capacity having the 3rd be the output.

Unfortunately i do not have the money for that. 1 SSD is ok for now. I will only run the os and the cs5 on it. For import and export i will get 2 Samsung F3 spinpoint.
