I am running XP Pro on my system and I will be changing out the mobo, CPU, MEM and graphics card. I know I will probably have to reactivate my OS, but will I have to reinstall it?? With Windows 2000 you had to do a reinstall of the OS for motherboard changes to be recognized. Is this the same with XP???

Thanks

If you are changing the motherboard, then it would be advisable to reinstall Windows. There is a new FAQ (check AT's main site for link, under the 2nd March FAQ update) to do it without reinstalling Windows, but it would be easiest to reinstall, and it would also make it nice and fast on a new install.

Windows XP is basically Windows 2000 with a pretty interface! :)

Both the fact you need to reactivate and the fact the OS isn't good enough to handle simple hardware changes bothers me a great deal.
