hardrive jumper settings question

hello I have a scsi hardrive, and 3 ide hardrives I want to set up

So for the ide hardrives, would i set one as dual master, anf d the other two as the dual slaves?

hi,
not quite sure what a dual master is but i would set them up like this...

primary channel ide (ide 1)
ide disk 1 - master
ide disk 2 - slave

secondary channel ide (ide 2)
ide disk 3 - master

then you can put a cd-rom or dvd or whatever and the secondary channel slave

hope that this helps

thanx,
I installed just 2 ide drives... one as master and other as slave.... my scsi however isnt the default... It now loads up with the master ide as the primary. shold i try to set both ides to slave?

hi,
never set any two drives on 1 ide cable to the same. there should be only 1 master and i slave on any ide channel. if you are wanting to make your scsi disk be the first (boot) device this is done in the bios. go into the bios and change the boot sequence to give scsi first. you may want to unplug your ide drives for the first boot after this setting, then, after it boots from scsi. power down and plug the ide drives in. it should now boot from scsi first.
hope that this helps
