No fair comparison = H was paid

Hahahahahaha yes! I was waiting for someone to say this, thanks for starting off my Monday morning with a laugh.

Nvidia must be rolling in dough since they are paying off everyone!

Dunno why they just didn't place a giant buy Galaxy logo in place of the article and save some effort. The spin about innovation his a good chuckle.

What an odd review, what happened? Only one card in the charts, huh? In Soviet Russia, vote for the best party. Only one party.

There was no point in voting in Soviet Russia. The winner was known before the election. Care to predict the next president of Russia after Medvedev? :D

HardOCP has been pushing Galaxy products for a while now. It's obvious the connection they have with them, but they carry on like nothing is wrong. It's one of the many reasons I don't go to the site.

Review sites , write articles on review samples vendors give them. This is a win/win situation. We get tech reviews, they get viewership.
It's no coincidence there were a number of reviews for that new Saphire 6950, toxic model all released at the same time. It was a coordinated campaign, to help sell product.

I stopped visiting hardOCP with his "I'm right and you are wrong attitude towards everything".

Never mind the fact that his graphics for benchmarks are TERRIBLE. Despite people constantly complaining about them. See first thing i mentioned.

But their review of the 6950 Toxic also included other cards from both camps which provided a proper comparison.

I hate feeling this way, but I hope Hardocp goes away like a liberal radio talk show. This Kyle Bennett character treats his customers quite badly.

We are aware AMD cards have been able to do this for years, we noted this on the very first page. However, they only allow up to 3x1, per card, ...

AMD has cards that natively support more than 3 displays simultaneously, in contrast to the cited portion of your post.

The question I ask myself is: "Was there any good reason to not include comparison benchmarks?"
My answer is no.
It's great that galaxy stepped up and offered this card, but people are still going to be curious how it performs against any competition. They went thru the effort to benchmark at resolutions that were attainable by other cards why not show them. The more data the better i say. They are just doing a disservice to the readers.

Ya, but now you get to please yourself in 3D.....even better...lol..

*Exactly!* You get it! And not "just 3D" but 3D *Surround* - so my reviews can regularly include both 5760x1080 (Surround vs. Eyefinity) testing and 3D Vision.

i took ABT on a 6-month *detour* and played games - installed over 100 older games besides playing 6 new games from start to finish with 3D Vision and 3D Vision Surround.

During that time our traffic suffered since i was not doing much writing - barely keeping up with driver performance analysis and almost no hardware reviews. But i did what i wanted to do; i got a 17,500 word 3D Vision evaluation published .. and now i know quite a bit about 3D Vision (and what's coming) and i really believe that it is the future of PC gaming - that most future PC games and the next gen of consoles will support S3D natively.

And since my interview with Jon Peddie about the future of 3D, i am on his "list" now for his industry analysis.

And now my "vacation" is over .. it's back to "work" .. doing what i love to do .. next up, SLI vs. CF (Part 2)

I read the article. You did a really nice job! I really enjoy my Panny 3D Plasma. So, I could imagine the realism that 3D adds to games. It's a tech I'll be keeping an eye on. Like, I said, your article was well written and thorough. :)

We are aware AMD cards have been able to do this for years, we noted this on the very first page. However, they only allow up to 3x1, per card, while this one can do 5 displays, as well as 4x1 and 2x2 stacked modes.

You can have up to six monitors with an AMD card. 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 2x2, 3x2. http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/gpu50-ati-eyefinity-display-configs.aspx No 5x1 listed there because it's an older chart.

You can do 5x1 portrait mode now with AMD cards. http://hothardware.com/Reviews/AMD-Radeon-HD-6870-CrossFire-with-5x1-Eyefinity-5x1/

Even on some lower end cards you can have 4 monitors. With Saphire flex you can have 3 of them with just DVI monitors.

5 monitor support for only $120. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150566

H is only useful for its forum. Honestly this forum for tech stuff is a bit... ehhh... There are far more experts on H, and other boards like OCForums or overclock.net or XS.

AT may have good benches, but the OC community here is very limited. And even if there's a crowd, the number of experts is limited.

When I have questions I do hop over to H, Overclock.net and XS a lot.

As for reviews H is a joke.

Their forums are going down hill just like their reviews. Any attempt to offer a different opinion and you get banned.

Not trolling, I'm new to these forums but I have been following Anandtech for a long time. Hopefully my knowledge and experience will be appreciated here.

I've offered different opinions there and never was banned and offered constructive criticism to Kyle at Beyond3d and offered to buy me a beer. I believe the site would respect constructive criticism.

I don't get the hate for Tom's, [H], etc. All of the more prominent tech sites offer valuable articles.

I didn't think this particular review was remarkable in any way. It covered the information I wanted to know and allowed me to dismiss the card as a novelty niche product not worth further thought. :p The point of these reviews is to inform - I can make my own decisions, and I don't pay much if any attention to sites' 'awards.'

What does irritate me about [H] is its editing. Almost every page of every review there has at least a handful of typos, grammatical errors, misspellings, etc.

it depends on Kyle's mood. he can be a real douche at times and ban you for some stupid crap. Kyle does not take criticism well at all. even when you question results that just do not add up , he will usually not edit them or admit anything was wrong. he does his reviews and acts like they are the final say so.

years ago hardforum had some massive forum issues and I was banned for complaining in the feedback section. I started another account and was banned a few months later for questioning something about his review. he even called me a dick right there on the forums even though I had not cussed or been rude to him at all.

then my current account was banned there when Kyle took a comment out of context. I got back in because the reviewer who I was replying to contacted Kyle to let him know I had done nothing wrong. even then Kyle was rude to me in his personal email and acted like I was lucky to be able to return to the forums.
