I'm on a tablet installing updates on a Athlon 64 3200+ (think the tablet is faster) that I just replaced a few parts in.

In fact Apple ridiculed Intel a few months ago with the A7 in a worse node (28 nm Samsung no less). Intel is just a newbie in too many fields. We also can't forget that CUDA is the de facto standard for GPGPU computing. All in all I'd say that Intel will release a passing by product.

without Nvidia influence and the potential of GPGPU market, CUDA would be a shrinking boat!

You just stated without the success of CUDA, CUDA would fail...

:hmm:

Nvidia is the only GPU maker for GPGPU professional markets(Until XeonPhi). And nvidia is only of few ones that can make big GPUs for GPGPU. Then nvidia force us to adopt their own GPGPU coding standard.
A well supported GPGPU open standard could dethrone CUDA, but who will do it?

I say buy 2 290s or 780s,CF or SLI them, and leave the big boys (290x and 780ti) gather dust on shelves.Unless you really want that extra performance (If you run at huge resolutions or are simply a little paranoid about it-nothing wrong with that),that is.

If by next month, when my exams are finished, the situation with the R9 series is the same here (Very few custom cards and they are expensive too!),I might as well go 780 and raise a middle finger to AMD and their bullshit.I want to support them with my money, but they're making it hard...

It's not AMD who is price hiking.

Who said I'm talking about the prices?Prices are all normal here.I just see them messing up in so many aspects that I'm discouraged about buying AMD right now.If I didn't dislike NVidia's practices that much,I wouldn't even consider AMD's GPUs right now.Maybe I'll change my mind again, but still...

EDIT : Example of why I say this.I just installed Windows 8.1 on my laptop. It's got an ATi HD4650 and it can only half-work with some modded drivers from guru3D.Audio out via HDMI is MIA and I don't see any of that changing anytime soon.Damn you AMD!You were the chosen ones!

You talked about money your whole post. It's the same for me and the fact that AMD doesn't work with my software.
