Wow, I had seen the Mercury Research and Steam Survey results, but this still surprised me.
691 mid-range and up nVidia nV4x cards owned by HardOCP members, only 265 ATI mid-range and up cards. More 6800GTs than all ATI combined.
For what it's worth, interesting to me anyway. ATI had best launch some product if this sample of about 1000 gamers is any indication.
BTW- please do not take this as a "trolling" post. We are gamers, this is a fairly large sample of buying trends among board rats like us.
I do not mean to start a "nVidia vs ATI" thread here, or imply one is better than the other, and for sure I do not want to discuss 5800s, soft shadows, SM3 or EXR HDR.
Presented for possible interest only, I personally will not respond to any flame posts in this thread.
