My first job was at Hardees.
I agree management SUCKS.
And sanitation is a JOKE. The fry sauce is kept in an open bucket in the back room, not in the cooler...and people smoke in that room, where all the paper goods are all too. Secondly I was orded to scrape spille frysauce off the ground with a spatula and put it back in the bucket. Third, when the drink lids fell on the floor, you were supposed to dip them in the wash water and put them back. The wash water had sanitizer in it that was not good to injest, when you washed you also rinsed.. you didn't rinse the lids. Fourth, they cleaned the top of the grille only once every week or so, and the sides NEVER got cleaned, there was grease and dirt built up two inches thick everywhere except the knobs and the top. The meat cabinets were never cleaned. They didn't have soap, you just put sanitizer on your hands, and rinsed. The floors had an 1/8 inch layer of grease on them, the fry vats were black, the ketchup was just poored into the same container over and over without being washed, there were thick layers of dried out crap.
One time I caught the jackass manager jacking off in the office (I heard him when it "happened"

he had his crap all over his hands. He yelled at me, wiped it on his cloths and went back to cooking WITHOUT washing his hands.
I worked 8 weeks before I walked off when one manager threw me against the grille and my hands landed on it. He threw me against it because I slipped on the greasy floors and spilled a box of meat, which he picked up and started to cook after I changed.
Needless to say I called the health dept, and my dad called his lawyer. It was a mess, we decided not to sue, the satisfaction of watching the place get shut down and the regional manager on down (all management in our region) get fired.
