Just wanted to know if i can boot of a disk connected to a PCI SATA controller.

Are you talking about a PCI controller that connects to SATA drives internally, or controller cards that offer exernal connection for SATA drives?

Yeah, you can boot off most, if not all PCI SATA controllers.

2. It says here http://www.ocworkbench.com/2003/siliconimage/sil3112/sil3112-3.htm that the controller has a average seek time of 8.5ms. I was thinking of getting a raptor. Would this negate any benefit of the raptor?

3. Problem is that the NVsilencer on my board is blocking SATA ports one and two on my board. I could get a zalman VF700 for a similar price.

4. Another question. If im overclocking do I need locked ports or unlocked ports? Which does my mobo have?

Any help would be seriosly appreciated

another option would be an IDE raptor
