I would just like to say up front that i do not own, nor do i wish to own a mac 
BUT, i was asked by a customer today if a new 30gb 7200rpm ATA100 Maxtor Hard drive could be used in a G4. I know that new macs use IDE but i suppose my question is more how it is done. Is it just a matter of formating the drive to some crazy mac file system?
