i dont realy care about noise, so is there any way to turn acoustic management off on a dimondmax8. im looking for a little more peformance.

Yes, Google for their AMSET utility.

EDIT: I only found dead links. They may have integrated it into PowerMax.

wow i dednt think the speed would go up that much. windows boots much faster, files open quicker to.
