Harddrive issues

I've got my sis-in-laws old computer. It's not loading windows(freezing at splash screen). I hooked it to a sata->usb converter. The recovery partition on the drive is showing up in my computer but not the other partition where I can get files from.

It showed one time in my computer(after taking forever to load) something about parameters being incorrect.

Any idea how I can get this partition to show up so I can get her wedding pictures off of it?

Put the HDD in an external case and treat it as a data drive. Find the wedding pics and copy them elsewhere. Too bad they were not burned to a DVD for archival purposes.

that's what i have pretty much now but i just use the sata cable connector that turns it to usb.
