2 1/2 years ago i made my first 8.4 gig purchase at best buy for 249.95. i may have gotten rip off because you could get it for about 200 bucks shipped if ordering online.
was a maxtor HD that died in 1 year and was quickly replace with another one that was DMA66 instead of DMA33 called U4.
because of this incident i couldnt wait and went right ahead and ordered a 17.2 gig seagate DMA66 5400 rpm for 115 + 15 fedex second day shipping.
got it within 3 days.
then a few more month down the road, the maxtor 30gig dma 66 can be had for 113 shipped so ordered that and hmm was impressed with it quietness but the speed wasnt so good.
a few more month, i saw a seagate medalist 40gig 5400 rpm DMA 100 for 125 bucks shipped and could not resist and ordered that got it in 3 day.
NOW today I saw a maxtor 5400 60gig DMA 100 for 98 + 10 shipping and you know what? I placed order and ah it so sweet isn't it, getting bigger in size faster and cheaper just like CPU.
but it no where as cheap as a duron 800 for 49.95 LOL. oh well maybe another years? :)
now the question is what would I be doing with this 60gig? dunno maybe have alot of movies on it or just feel great to have so much unused space.
sure I have cd burner and plenty of cd but hell it only 650meg per cd and it can be a pain to access all those file and having to swap them.

Don't worry, if you have some sort of broad band access you will use what you have and need more storage in three months.
