hey,
my harddrive got f*cked up, fortunately i had another drive, i loaded xp onto it and using recovery software was able to get my files off the crashed drive...only thing is i'm having trouble getting to my emails.
i was previously using outlook 2000, as part of the office 2000 package, as my email program and now i'm using outlook xp.
i think i found the folder with all my emails, it's almost 500megs - yikes, it's full of *.dbx files like inbox, deleted, sent, etc.
but how can i import these dbx files into outlook xp?
thanks a lot.

well, u should have backed it up or exported, but i think outlook xp can import the dbx files. at least that's what i did, but some parts didn't work.

sure, neutralizer...in hindsight everything is crystal clear.
lukfilm: to export, click file, export, then select export to file....you want to export a pst file, make sure you select your root mail folder to backup and backup subdirectories. then just say where you want to save it. it should make a *.pst file that contains all your emails.

okay, turns out i was looking at the wrong files, those dbx files are from outlook express, which must be from a damn long time ago, anyways, it would be nice to see what's in there, seeing as there's 500 megs of email stuff....

thanks for the link, yadda, still trying to figure out what going on with it....
