Harddrive disappearing

I just purchased a new WD 1.5 TB HD to use as a storage drive. Installed it, recognized in BIOS fine, formatted it in Vista, drive appears just fine. THe trouble is that if I leave the computer on long enough, the drive eventually disappears from My Computer. In fact, it disappeared once while I was opening a folder in it, got a message saying "drive not connected." However, rebooting brings the drive back every time. So far this has happened 4 times.

Any ideas?

Bad cable? Bad drive? Flaky mobo SATA port?

Problems with LPM (link power management) in the newest Intel RST drivers? (LPM is now enabled by default, and causes issues with some drives, mainly SSDs.)

I had the same issue with a machine I was building a while back. Moving it to a different SATA port fixed the problem altogether for me. VirtualLarry beat me to it.
