Harddrive detected by BIOS but not usable/workable on DOS or Windows

Hi,

I wanted to know if someone could help me here, my old BIGFOOT TS19.2A of 18GB is broken, it is detected by the BIOS and I can use a program to manage it, I can't recall the name but it's on Hiren's Boot CD. It's freeware.

The problem is that I can't seem to load the drive on DOS, it simply doesn't take it. Partition Magic 8 says the partition is *nix style maybe that's why. But I wiped that partition with the program......

What can I do to fix this drive to install XP again?

Thanks

Its probably not formatted correctly. Assuming you have no valuable info on it, reformat it using the ntfs file system.

I will try that in a moment, also the program I am using is http://mhddsoftware.com

It's checking for bad blocks now. After that I will put the disk back on my old compaq and try to do the Windows XP install and see if it works, normally I get a WEIRD error when it starts :S
