Harddrive capacity not properly detected

I am wanting to install a 30 gig Maxtor ATA133 harddrive on an old machine... a p200 to be exact.
(I know it's old) I flashed the mobo bios but the drive is only detected as an 8 gig drive.
I d/l'd the Disk manager software and ran it, but it still gives me the drive max capacity as 8 gig???
I threw the drive in my current machine and it detects it as 30 gig (both in the bios and in the Disk mgr software).
How can I get the old machine to see the 30 gig drive properly?
Do I need to install a controller card because it's an ATA133 drive?
Do I need a special IDE cable because it's an ATA133 drive??

Goto Maxtor's website and download MaxBlast. That will setup your computer to handle the 30gig drive. If you bought it new in retail packaging then it comes w/ this software. You won't need any other hardware to use this drive.

The BIOS probably has an 8gig limit. Some BIOS'es shortly after yours have 32gig limits. Best bet is to buy a cheap PCI IDE controller card such as Promise or SIIG.

You can workaround the 8.4 limit with a bios upgrade if possible, a hard drive software solution through Maxblast or a separate controller.

You may also be able to manually enter the hd specs in the bios to get it to see more of your drive.
