Harddisk crash and failures, I need help

hi just this morning my 10 GB Maxtor Harddisk drive had gone crazy, first the screen and the mouse pointer goes so slow it stops and then suddenly the BLUE SCREEN of death appeared saying "CANNOT READ/WRITE ON DRIVE C:" "DATA OR FILES MIGHT BE LOST" now im wondering maybe the problem is in the circuitry or the chips of my harddisk cause when I tried touching two of the chips below it is so darn hot and my motherboard doesnt recognize it anymore, I just bought this last december and still has warranty, now my question is, is there a possibilty that i still can retrieve all the DATA's on it, and my motherboard doesnt detect it anymore, I tried testing other drives and they were detected
