I started listening to this(Blueprint for Armageddon part 1) and it is really good. The guy goes in much detail, I like some of the eye witness accounts he reads about various things. This series is a four part and is about the event/events that sparked WW1 and I am guessing sticks to WW1. I was really amazed about how the Germany army was described as it had to march into Belgium. The sheer size was staggering and the planning it would take to move such a large amount of people/supplies. It was also pretty interesting how this was the first major war in Europe where modern weapons like the guns that were used against the Belgium forts were used. and the machine guns the forts use don the Germans and how the bodies were just piling up and making barricades. These forts were made in the late 1800's and were to withstand the biggest guns at the time that were canons that shot 10-12" canon balls and and the guns weighed a couple 1000 pounds. The new guns had shells that were thousands of pounds and the guns weighed up to a couple 100000 pounds.

The only thing I dont like is the guy doing the host is over dramatic with his voice frequently but it is very good so far,

It boggles my mind how people did war logistics before cell/sat phones, computers, GPS, etc. My buddy does international logistics for his company & basically lives on the phone & computer 70+ hours a week. Pen, paper, and rulers...sheesh.

Its a WW2 thing but similar. I recently saw that Eisenhower was considered a good leader, good with tactics but world class (arguably the world's best) logistics officer. This was a big factor why he became who he was.

Check out his Wrath of Khan series on the mongol empire. One of my personal favorites.

If you find that interesting, you might want to check out this YouTube channel I found recently: The Great War.

He does World War I history day-by-day, as it happened 100 years ago. If you go to the channel's videos and go to the upper right and sort them in ascending order by date, you can start at the beginning. They're not long videos but they're pretty good.
