Old thread with none descriptive title :D

Demo is out on Steam for Hard Reset now. DL'n now, hope it is fun cause the price point is great :D

I took a few screenshots you can see here.

The demo was fun, the shooting was solid and you can do upgrades to your weapons as well. A ton of stuff can be blown up and there are lots of hidden things all around, some you need to blow up canisters to blow up walls to find secret rooms and inside those rooms you can blow up more walls for more stuff. It felt good and was fun. Thinking might have to pick this up to support a good PC exclusive that is right well, $26.99 if you preorder on Steam.

Game is out now. How is everyone enjoying it? I bought it to support the devs but haven't had a chance to play yet, busy with other games still atm.

Welp, I know what I'm doing tonight. And by "tonight", I mean immediately after I get home from work.

I don't care what anyone says. I'm gonna play the hell out of this game. Gorgeous cyberpunk-themed graphics made for PC hardware, big explosions, and killer robots. What's not to like. :)

I only see Space Marine?

Thanks. Yeah, that annoyed me. I can't stand threads with useless titles.

It's quite short, but damn! Very impressive. Runs smooth everywhere and never drops during physics explosions, etc. Plus it looks just fantastic! I do think I'll have to buy this now.

Weird I click on the link and it brought me straight to the Hard Reset screenshots.

I have no idea what punk started that old thread with such a shitty title, damn hooligans!

Odd... this is what I see when I click your link.

Very weird, lets see if I can hotlink the pictures, though they wont look as good as in game since Steam compresses the images a lot.

Just played the demo. Pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely pick it up at some point.

I'm always up for a good single-player romp. Going to give this one a look.

Holy moly that's an oversized hud on the bottom left. Can they make that half the size.

DL the demo now. Thanks for pointing that out.

Heard it's a PC-only game, should be cool if they manage to give us nice textures and all at launch...and not some packs after release :p

Can't wait to try this one. If the demo is cool i'll pre-order it. At 27 bucks on pre-o, it's a really nice price.

Ok.. played until the first check point. Wow.. the demo looks polished and the controls are extremely fluid. Guns are innovative and no fucking reloading :D.

Averaging about 45 FPS on 5770 at High+MLAA/1080P

The size of the HUD doesn't bother me. I don't find myself ever feeling like it's blocking my view. Especially during the big battle at the end of the demo, when I'm sprinting back and forth like mad, with robots swarming me and shit exploding everywhere, the HUD is the last thing on my mind.

Some people complain about the size of the weapons too. Again, I have no problem with this. There's nothing wrong with wielding huge guns in some games, it adds to the effect of being a badass.

My only complaints would be that movement is a bit clunky, and jumping slows you down a considerable amount... which is disappointing. This is unlike Painkiller, for example, where jumping actually makes you FASTER. (Me playing Painkiller: "HUNGH HUNGH HUNGH HUNGH HUNGH HUNGH HUNGH"). ;)

The sprinting kinda makes up for it, but it's very limited and you can only use it when your "sprint meter" is at full, which gets frustrating.

Otherwise, it's a damn fine game. The demo is everything I expected it to be.

Edit: I take back what I said about movement being "clunky". Really, for an oldschool-style shooter, it's quite fluid (as it should be). I think it's just a combination of things that gave me the feeling of "clunky" when I played it, which are: a) The fact that you move a little slower than I would like to, and b) sprinting can be a bit frustrating because it only works half the time (only when your meter is completely full). That's all, really. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

I think I'm actually gonna contact the devs about the sprint issue. They need to make it so you can sprint whenever you want, as long as your sprint meter has anything left in it at all. Who knows, maybe it's for balance for something, but as far as I'm concerned it's just kinda annoying.

This game came out of nowhere. Then again im not really into games anymore anyways. But downloaded and tried it.

- movement/shooting feels nice and solid just like it should. (no mouse accel crap)
- graphics are nice and runs pretty good on my 5770 on high 1920x1080
- no crappy AI to help you along the way or hold your hand to complete missions
- effects are awesome

I am pleasantly surprised with this.

Looks and runs great, even on my modest rig - check
Controls and movement feel very good - check
PC exclusive, with no DRM on top of Steam, looks like the devs actually care about their game - check.

I'm considering preordering it, something I rarely do nowadays...I probably will :)

Only annoyances were the menu animations, they look great the first time, but if you play with the settings they get very annoying, and my xbox controller started vibrating on my desk, which freaked me out. I haven't checked if this can be disabled though.

I had a hard time telling where enemies where coming from based on the sound. Either that or the enemies just spawn behind you all the time. I preordered it from some hot deal, but I kinda wish I didn't after playing the demo. It might be a little too old school. Looks great and I like the game world, but if its just a standard corridor shooter I can see myself getting bored really quick. Hopefully its just a bare bones demo and the full game has more depth.

thanks for the post to tell us about it. At $29.99 or so, I can support what I like without hurting my wallet too much. Good job Flying Wild Hog !
