Hard freezes....

Hi all,

I am having hard freezes that occur randomly on Windows XP. (mouse pointer won't even move)

Is there some log file I can check or some other means to determine what the issue is? I'm thinking maybe it's software?

This system has worked fine for over a year. There have been no hardware changes, and I certainly have not overclocked anything. I have no idea what could have caused this to happen all of a sudden.
 
When you say worked fine for over a year have you ever opened it to clean it out. You could have an heating problem caused by dust.
 
Check your CPU fan and make sure it's running at full speed! Also, reseat EVERYTHING attached to the mobo....don't just feel that it's tight, pull off and put back on/in.
