Do hard faults have anything to do with stability?

My system seems stable, but when I check resource monitor, hard faults/sec goes really high every once in a while when I open something big.
 
No, hard faults just mean I/O from disk was necessary, a soft fault means the page was already in memory somewhere and just need mapped into another process's VM.
