Hard Drives: Cool & Quiet Solutions

I'm trying to go through every part in my case and modify its position/composition to get the best possible combination of quiet and cool. From what I've read, the best way to achieve this with hard drives is to sandwich my hard drive between two aluminum plates and then suspend the contraption in my case via elastic. Now, getting ahold of elastic is pretty easy, but I have no metal working tools. Where could I possibly get aluminum cut to specific dimensions with holes drilled in each corner?
