What is the 3 best hard drive 7200 rpm, ata 66 or 100, ide, 25 to 35 gig (i would like 30 gig but almost all series have a model of 30 gig) thanks all for your futur post

There is at least one "best hard drive" thread per week.

About 5 in 10 say IBM, 4 in 10 say Maxtor, and the others get a smattering...

Personally I'm an IBM man. I run 2 75GXPs and wouldn't use anything else.

What about Seagate? I'm building a computer and am looking into an SCSI drive, and the barracuda's are what I was thinking of getting. Are these good.

Seagate gets a real bad rap, but the truth is that their scsi barracuda's are actually quite good....unfortunately, they're the ONLY line from seagate this is good!

for IDE drives, it's either Maxtor or IBM.

Actually Seagate's best line of HDs is not the cudas, it's the cheetah. but for SCSI drives, my pick will be Seagate, Quantum, or IBM.
