hard drive

i am going nuts about which hard drive to choose. should i go with 74 10,000 raptors in raid 0, or should i forget the "speed" and choose 300gb maxtor? can i use a combination of both? can i put windows and programs on raptor and use maxtor for storage. but i don't think i'll be able to raid them? will i? also i have no idea when it comes to partitioning them. what is goo setup? any sugestions on some newbie articles on this matter? thanks. i appreciate your time.

ok. if i get 74 gb raptor and 160 or 250gb 7200 for storage how do i partition them? all raptor for windows and apps, or prt of it for windows and part of it for apps? btw thanks for reply.
 
i would partition the raptor with OS and apps/programs. no performance gain, but you could reinstall your OS if necessary and your other programs would still be there.....
 
Set the Raptor as 'C' drive and install windows and apps there. The other drive can then be set as 'D' and used for data storage. Keep it simple and enjoy.
