If you have a 120 gig wd, it should be under warranty. WD is always good about replacing failed drives...did you run their diagnostic program and check the warranty online? Then you can spend that $90 on a textbook....stupid textbooks

Try to RMA as John suggest and meanwhile I'd go with the Seagate as I beleive it has the 100Gig platters which rock and are quiet.

Ok.. I will definately try to RMA this... but I don't want to take the computer apart more than once :)

As soon as the Seagate is installed, i'll take the WD out and check the warranty status

THanks :)

Bill, if your set on getting the Seagate, so be it....but the way RMA's work with Western Digital, they will send you your new RMA drive 1st if you chose, then you send back the old one, usually pretty quick, within 2-3 days, then you pack up old drive and send back.
