Hard Drive with bad sectors

My laptop working fine from 2 hours before turns on saying missing files and corrupt boot.ini blah blah, I try boot up linux from live CD and add the missing file, but linux cant read the HD.


So any one know how to get a offline boot able program to try to fix the bad sectors, but my guess is the HD is dead.

edit: its a Toshiba laptop, with a toshiba HD which has no diagnostic utilities from toshiba.
