Hard drive weirdness

The hard drive is Maxtor 40 Gig 7200 Rpm. The diagnostic software provided by Maxtor is reporting problems with the drive but strangely the drive works fine (OS can be installed, programs and etc.) What do you guys and gals think I shoud do? I got it as a gift and want to sell it.

Oh, the warranty is valid until 2005

If you don't want it, and it doesn't have any bad sectors, then sell it.
The warranty will be good for another 2 years for someone else too.

NOTE: Earlier versions of MAXDIAG.EXE found on MaxBlast/MaxBlast Plus generate identified, phantom errors. This condition no longer exists with Powermax v2.5 and above.

I'm sure that i used the latest program. It does have problems seeing the drive, maybe there are still some bugs left in software?

if you are using a MaxBlast floppy that came with that 40GB and the build date on the drive is not this year..you don't.
