Very easy, go to the hard drive manufacture's site. They should have a support \ rma \warranty section. Type in the hd serial # and it should tell you if its under warrany

What's the manufacturer? With OEM drives the warranty usually follows the drive, not the purchaser, and often you can fill in your serial number online and get an RMA for it.

What is the manufacturer and manufacture month/year (should be on a sticker on the back of the drive)?

Check with the Mfr. They run the warranty from the manufacture date, so if you have the serial number, you can find out if it's still under warranty.

Also remember, most HD manufacturer warranties start when the drive was made and not sold. (I believe). Sux.

Don't worry, The best thing about Seagate is they have a 5 year warrinty on all internal drives.

If you have a receipt and you're within the warranty based on purchase date, you probably have a case. Make a lot of noise and the company will probably listen.
