Hard drive under constant access

No matter if I have nothing running or 30 chrome tabs and steam and a game and a server. Scanned for malware and stuff with AVG and Malwarebytes.
Constant.
Always.
Always spinning.
So slow.
Ow.
This is the only suspicious reading I can find.

Disk tab in resource monitor should tell you what application is hitting disk so hard, but hard faults / sec is swap file usage. You shouldn't be hitting swap with your RAM at 56% used unless there's a pretty nasty problem.

AVG is accessing the disk and had the hard faults. It isn't scanning. Now that I jut checked again it has 0 hard faults/sec but AVG is still reading the disk most.

Huh. Errant virus scanner, eh?

Well, first thing I'd try would be reinstalling AVG. It could have a corrupt preferences file or something.

But I'm sure there are lighter-weight virus scanners out there anyway.
