Hard Drive Transfer

Hi,
I need to transfer certain files(not the whole hard drive ) from a hard drive in one computer to a hard drive in another computer. I was looking at getting a file transfer cable(It looks to me like just a standard serial cable, but they called it a file transfer cable at the store). Is this the best way and if so how does it work? Thanks,

Its somewhat cheaper to just remove the HD and slave it in to your machine and copy what you need via the Explorer... Or a cheap network is cool too...

Bartman39 is right: is the best way.
If you don't feel confortable with swapping drives, burn a cd.
