I have a Dell/P3 500 system now. I just bought an Abit Kt7-RAID and a Tbird 900. what's the best way to swap the drive to the new system with out having to back up and reinstall everything?

Delete everything from Device Manager (boot to safemode first). All the peripheral drivers should already be on the system when you boot on the new motherboard, so you shouldn't need the CD/floppy, but it's good to have them handy in any case, or at least downloaded copies of the drivers on the hard drive. Of course you'll need the driver CD for the new motherboard.

If I'm having device conflicts/problems now, will that carry over to the new motherboard?

Might or might not, depending on the cause. But if you do what was suggested - removing all devices and then reinstalling them in the new board - there's a chance it will be corrected. If not, look for hardware and PCI slot conflicts. Check new motherboard specs and see what PCI slots support DMA, share PIRQs with ISA and USB buses, etc. - and check what each of your adapters requires and try to get them into suitable slots - some adapters share better than others, and some (like NICs)don't like to share at all.
