ok i have 1 hard drive. thats partitioned into 2.

C drive total size 205gb with 95gb free space
D drive total size 24.4gb with 500mb free space (windows installed in this one)

i check on my D drive and it says my documents and settings folder contains 10.6gb worth of files.

the onlything inside this folder is my user file and its 10gb big.

i double click on this folder and once i go into it there's like barely anything in it. theres 3 folders with 2 files and the total size for all of them was 700mb.

i don't understand why my user file is taking up 10gb while when i open it, it only shows that theres 700mb worth of stuff in it. can anyone help me with this? its annoying how my D drive only has 500mb of free space.

i tried disk cleanup and it has nothing to delete.

Assuming that this is some variant of windows, you might want to do a disk cleanup through My computer. My guess is that you have several restore points saved. I know with Windows Vista that can get several GB in size each.
