Hard Drive Speed Test

Guys .... just wondering if there is any test I can use to measure the read/write speeds of my hard drives ...

I recently set-up a raid array, and was kind of curious how it performs relative to the other drives.

Suggestion ?

Sandra has a decent hdd benchmark.... also, what about hdtach?

how about comparing with another PC?

I also just set up to western digital 120 GB 8MB cache hard drives in a raid 0 array. I used Nero to test the drive speeds and it reported them reading/writing at 55 Mbps which is pretty fast compared to the serial ATA drives that are out right now. The 55 Mbps was a high score on average they are probably more at 50 Mbps. Just use Nero get it from Kazaa. Peace Elpierco

Both sandra and HDTach seem good ... but it seems that in none of them is a freeware ..... I mean for conducting the relevant hard drive tests for XP

(I know I didn't specify freeware ... but just don't want tpo spend $$$ for one time tests)!
