Hard drive (slave) disappeared from windows explorer

slave hard drive shows up in bios, but has disappeared from windows.

i have rebooted and checked cables, but everything looks fine.

windows xp - the drive does not show up in disk manager

hmm? any ideas on what i can try next?

Is this an IDE hard drive? If so, it's most likely because you have the jumper in the master position, instead of the slave position.
