Hard Drive Silent Death

My second hard drive died two nights ago. Computer was on and all the sudden it started clicking/chirping. Instantly unrecognizable. 160g Western Digital only been used for about two months. Suggestions on recovery?

You can try the freezer trick, that gave me about 10 minutes of use on my old HDD that died (just enough time to backup the stuff i absolutly needed)

1. Stick drive in anti-static bad
2. Put said bag/drive in freezer overnight
3. Get computer ready for boot w/ IDE/SATA/Power cables ready
4. Take the drive outta the freezer, and boot it up
5. Be quick, you won't have much time

The idea is to have the parts contract enough that everything will work long enough to recover what you need. It doesn't always work because in this instance something is assumed to be misaligned or similar where as if the controller board is gone this won't help. But it is always worth at least 1 attempt.
