Hey guys,
I just built a new computer and am going through the bios setup, but the bios won't auto-detect the hard drive. It detects the DVD drive, which is the master on IDE2, but won't detect the HD, which is the master on IDE1. To help determine if it might be a problem with the IDE cable or the motherboard's IDE interface, I connected the HD to IDE2 in place of the DVD drive, but it still won't auto detect. Any ideas? How can I determine if it might be a dead hard drive? The hard drive is a brand new 200GB WD and the motherboard is a brand new Abit AV8. Thanks in advance!
