Hard Drive scores dropped???

what have you done since you ran those tests the first time? i bet you installed some programs, or generated some new files, or downloaded some files... -.-

yes i have. but the scores were never that low with the last drive i had (the same drive) when it had even more than i have now on it.

your scores will always be highest with a fresh install of windows. you may have installed a program that you didnt install on your old drive that makes a big difference. either way, the older and more used the installation is, the slower it will get. thats why i try to reinstall win2k at least once a year. win98 was reinstalled once every few months for me.

i also noticed it dropped signifagantly when i installed intel application accelerator, software that manages the ide drivers and transfers and is supposed to make the hard drive faster. funny it got slower.
