The first Time I installed everything on my Hard Drive (When I build my PC) everything seemed to work except the Ethernet port for some reason but then after a year my hard drive broke (thankfully I managed to recover most of my files). I then installed everything on my new hard drive but with most of my non-essential stuff on an external drive. This time the Ethernet port worked but it seems to effect online applications, for example:
Slower connection,
Battlefield 2 pings are higher (being kicked because of it)
uTorrent (mem usage goes right up until it doesn?t work anymore)
After finally reinstalling, updating and activating a game card on World of Warcraft Yesterday (Blizzard Updater kept cutting out, so I downloaded updates via XFire) and it only works for about 20 seconds and the disconnects from server.
When I try to look into the problems, I'm quite often lead to nVidia Ethernet/Network/Firewall related files. nVidia Firewall is turned off but when I try to turn anything else off or delete anything, nothing internet related will work at all.
I've got a few reasons for wanting to start a fresh again with my hard drive the main one being, I used to have Nod32 but after uninstalling it quite often when downloading large files it comes up with some error relating to Nod32 and has to restart from the beginning (I've tried everything to get completely rid of Nod32 but it doesn?t seem to be anywhere including registry)
So to get to the point, I'm planning on reformatting my Hard Drive and starting again. So just to make sure I'm not missing anything:
Reformat
Install Windows
Install Drivers
Install Anti-Virus and Firewall
Connect Router
Install Windows Updates
And is that it???
Plus the Ethernet/Network drivers I'm installing are the ones I got with my DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR has anyone else experienced problems??
