Hard Drive Recommendations

I've used IBM IDE hard drives almost exclusively for the last several years. The IBM drives performed extremely well and were very reliable.

However, one of my 20 GB 60GXP drives recently failed. I'm aware of problems (crashes, premature failure, etc.) with the IBM 75GXP and 60GXP series. Has anyone experienced any problems with the newer 120GXP or 180GXP series?

I'm also considering the Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 series (retail box - Ultra?). Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

I have 2 120gxp's and they have been running nicely for about 8 months in RAID 0. I haven't heard of any issues with them as of yet. Diamond max with fluid drive...very very quiet.

I would def have some cooling on those drives though, cause they do run rather hot.
