i am looking for a set of 80gb sata hard drives, preferrably, i would like the ones with fluid bearings since they are supposed to be more silent. and the price range i am looking at about $100 +/- $20 per drive.

thanks

That will be lots cheaper than you were anticipating
and IMHO the best 80gb SATA drive

Its a Deskstar 7k250:
It seeks faster than most other drive, as IBM/Hitachi drive always have
61.4MB/s sustained transfer peak
It has a 3yr warranty

That drive is $77.50 with free shipping from newegg.com

Best of luck with your searching, This is by far what I would invest in.

I have one and plan on buying another soon for some raid action. I can never hear it, but I also have a case window with a loud @ss thermaltake volcano11. Reliable so far though.

I would go with the Hitachi. My 180GXP is solid and quiet, even in seeks. Maxtor also makes drives with FDB motors, but they rarely have 3 year warranties.
